These tights are excellent with just the right amount of compression. I wore them for a six mile hike and my knees and hip joints were well stabilized. Since I am only 5'2" tall, the 7/8 length is perfect. It gives enough room to clear my hiking boots so that there is no bunching with my socks. I would make sure that you take them off as soon as you finish walking, running, lifting weights, hiking or any other activity. I made the mistake of sitting around for over an hour or two after the long hike and both of my legs started cramping from the constant compression. I will not make that mistake again. Otherwise, these tights are great for stabilizing the joints while exerting intense physical activity.
